“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
I remember reading I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings in high school. I was amazed. In awe. The story captured me in a way that compelled me to say, “I want to do this one day.” Not realizing that I would have a few stories of my own.
Our voice has a unique story. No two stories are the same. When I had done live events #BeforeCorona, people would be drawn to the fact that I self-published three (so far) books of my very own. Like it was another wonder of the world. There would be millions of questions. Simply I responded, “I just did the work.” I did the work. Investing in programs, perfecting my craft, sacrificing, investing time, failing forward and still learning along the way.
Your voice has the pen of a ready writer. Yet, you psych yourself out of writing to become an author for several reasons. I speak about my own process a little in the video below. Start today. Get a title. Write out 10 sections for the book. You have a title, a genre, and chapters for your outline.
Don’t overthink it friend. Don’t allow imposter syndrome to take over. I’m a #MidwifeToWrite
Until next friends. Your voice in a contribution to the world.
