Let Your Light Shine

When he created us in his image, how we view ourselves is small in comparison to how God looks at us. Imagine if we could love us the way that he does?

Imagine that. In a world that constantly competes to fit in, where are the people that will be willing to stand out? At some point, we have to be willing to remove ourselves from these caves. So many hide behind images, cliques, complacency, the latest social media challenges, and/or other people’s standards that one doesn’t even know their own identity.

Clearly, many of us were brought into this world from our mother’s womb screaming. Then somewhere along the journey, someone fed you lies and you believed it. It could have been your own thoughts also. It makes you shrink. This lie makes you feel worthless. That voice of yours can barely speak up.

This is a season to emerge. Get out of that broken place. That relationship may have bent you but it did not break you. Someone may have betrayed you. Your timeline not going as planned. You have a goal but feel like it’s not feasible. You could be on a battlefield in your mind from your thoughts. Stop it altogether. Today reclaim how victorious you are.

Fear is liar with no substance. Confidence is a gift from God. Especially when you put your trust in him.

Did you know that God gave us a directive to shine?

Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).

Shine for the people that need you. Take yourself out of the equation. Why? Your purpose is bigger than you. That keeps you humble. It’s all about perspective.

Until next time my light bearing friends,

Your curator
