It’s not where you start, it’s how you finish. Compelled to do more than survive, she thrives through domestic violence advocacy, self-publishing, and inspires dreamers to become doers of the world.
Through promoting healthy relationships from motivational speaking and working in the community, she is on call to serve.
As a Durham, North Carolina native, Tamieka Smith was a small woman living with a big secret while residing in Fayetteville, NC. The smile she had masked the pain of being in an abusive relationship for nearly 5 years. After a near death situation, she found a way of escape with her two boys. Tamieka was compelled to do more than survive. She also found her voice that once tried to silence her. In 2014, she created Wordsmith Books, LLC to, later on, self-publish Shattering the Glasshouse: A Memoir, Gratitude: A 31-Day Affirmation & Devotional Guide, and her newest book, GloUpGirl! The 21-Day Guide to Living Your Best Life After Toxic Relationships to inspire and empower others through the power of the pen.
Her creative works established her speaking platforms from high schools to conferences. As the curator of GloUpGirl.com, the lifestyle blog of God, Goals, and Glowing she continues to promote healthy relationships working in the community with nonprofit partnerships H.E.A.R.T.S. and 10Blessings, Inc.
